We are closing in on the GIMP 2.6 release and still the translation status looks rather bad. It would be nice if we could ship GIMP 2.6 with lots of complete translations. So here’s your chance to help.
If you want to help translating GIMP to your language, please get in contact with the GNOME translation [...]

For a while already, GIMP has rudimentary support for input devices such as the Griffin PowerMate. Last week, Mitch and me received a parcel from Logitech containing a NuLOOQ navigator USB device. What a nice motivation to improve support for such devices.
So over the weekend I added (optional) HAL support to the Linux Input controller [...]

Yesterday I gave an introduction to D-Bus for my coworkers. Preparing this talk was a good opportunity to finally make myself familiar with the concepts of D-Bus. After work I immidiately started to add D-Bus support to GIMP. This will allow us to finally get rid of the ‘gimp-remote’ utility, at least on [...]

Last week, finally the hardware arrived. A fanless barebone system that is going to become our music server, music player and eventually also a DVD and movie player. Completed with some hardware that was used in a desktop machine before, we now have this setup:

3.5″ IDE hard disk drive 320GB
DVD/CDRW [...]

While we are at it, when I drag something out of Firefox to the GNOME desktop (2.14), why does the mouse cursor indicate that it would ask me what to do (that’s what the question [...]

The Nokia 770 turned out to be a nice client for internet radio and I got used to using it quite a lot for that purpose. But the joy ended when I moved to a new appartment two weeks ago because since then I am without internet connectivity. In the meantime I have my desktop [...]

Federico found g_utf8_offset_to_pointer() showing up in profiles. I remembered that we copied some of the UTF-8 code for

With grief I learned that the latest KDE is still using the awful hack called Klipper, a clipboard daemon that works in the most stupid way possible. If you want to know why it sucks, I suggest you try a KDE system where Klipper is running (AFAIK that’s the default with KDE 3.4). Then start [...]

Looks like Abiword and Gnumeric have been ported to the Nokia 770. Let’s hope that the device that I won at GUADEC will arrive soon so that we can start porting GIMP.
