usability student wanted for gimp

OpenUsability will be mentoring student projects on usability and GIMP has been chosen as the subject of the first such project. See the announcement for the glory details.

We are looking for a student in interaction architecture who wants to work on designing the user interface for the next generation of the GNU Image Manipulation Program. The upcoming integration of gegl will open completely new ways of manipulating images and we need a vision on how to let the user interact with these new possibilities. But first of all, we need an evaluation and analysis of the current state. Based on this, a new interface can be designed.

So, this is your chance to enrich your education on usability and user interface design with a hands-on experience. You will be working closely with experienced professionals and get insights in to their way of work. Don’t hesitate to apply.
